Pool Deck Repair and Resurfacing

There are many options available to you if you want to spruce up your swimming pool decking. Most pools are already surrounded with a concrete deck surface. This surface can be patched, cleaned and restained. A new, thin concrete surface can be applied over the old, and this can be stamped to provide the look of stone. Your entire deck surface can be spray-coated with a product known as Kover Krete (TM), which will even out dips and cracks, create a uniform look, and provide a non-slip surface. This is a very cost-effective option. Finally, thin-set pavers can be laid over an existing concrete surface to provide uniformity. This is a beautiful old-world look that is very popular now.

Your swimming pool deck can be repaired and resurfaced using a spray-on product called Kover Krete (TM). Applying thin-set pavers to your existing concrete deck surfaces is another way to renew your swimming pool deck. Pavers vary in color, size and shape and provide a natural "stone" look. Pavers are glued around the outside perimeter of the deck, and laid loose in the center, held in place with sand which is brushed in and around the spaces between the pavers. This makes pavers easy to remove in the event that one needs replacing. This is also helpful if your plumbing is located underneath the existing deck. Acid Washing is a way of cleaning your swimming pool decking by etching a new surface in the concrete with an acid bath. Acid washing removes dirt and pollution which have accumulated on the surface of your pool deck over the years. Different colored stains (matched to your existing deck color) can be applied after the acid wash, and the entire deck is sealed as a final step. Acid washing - re-staining, along with repairing and restaining the coping, is a great way to make your pool look brand new! Pool Tiles Pool tiling is one area where you can really add personality to your pool. Tiles generally come in 2x2, 3x3, and 6x6 sizes, and run around the pool's top edge. There are hundreds of styles and colors of pool tiling, beginning with square solid-color basics and finishing with hand-fired sets with custom accent tiles. Mosaics are popular and can be placed on the pool floor, pool walls or deck. Common mosaics include aquatic animals such as turtles and dolphins, or custom mosaics can be ordered to promote your favorite sports team, or display your initials.
